How and when did you accept Christ in your life: I was nine-years old, and we had a Revelation Bible study in my church. At the end of the study the pastor asked if anyone would like to give their lives to Christ and I walked forward. My dad passed away when I was in high school, and I drifted away from my friendship with Christ. I got my priorities back in order when I went away to a Christian college. I spent a lot of time with some friends who believed it was cool to be a Christian, and it rubbed off on me. Where else have you worked in radio or ministry: I started my radio career during college at Positive Life Radio in Walla Walla, Washington in 1991. I joined 89.5 FM, KTSY in Boise, Idaho in 1997 as the morning show host and eventually program director. God placed me here in at The Light in December of 2008. College: Walla Walla University in Walla Walla, Washington Three people you admire: My dad was someone who always put his family first. I hope someday to be half the man that he was Favorite Food: Anything chocolate, most things Italian and anything involving ice cream, regardless of the season. Christian Book (besides The Bible) that has influenced you: The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. This book has taught me how to be a better student of my wife, and how to care for other people. Favorite Movie: I have to admit that I actually enjoy chick flicks. I really liked “A Walk to Remember” and “FireProof” which I’ve now seen three times. Person who personally influenced your walk with Christ: My mom. My dad passed away at the age of 15, and my mother has consistently shown what it means to depend on Jesus when times are tough. She is a living example of praising God even in the middle of life’s biggest storms. Favorite Color: Blue What do you enjoy in your free time: I enjoy roller-skating (four wheels, not two), snow-skiing, writing, reading, most sports and just spending time with family and friends. I like running around with my daughter and my two nieces. They love it when Uncle Jerry plays the “horsey.” Most boring job: Attaching stickers to honey jars at the “Winnie-the-Pooh” honey company in Moreno Valley, CA. Something about me you might not know: My mom has 21 brothers and sisters. I’m not sure how cousins I have. Favorite Verse: Philippians 4:6-7 “I’ve got it all under control. You don’t have to worry. Just bring your problems to me, and I’ll take care of them. I’ll guard your heart and bring you peace.” --My paraphrase |
